  • I am so thankful to have the opportunity to serve the Gum Springs community as an assistant principal! In my 15 years in education I’ve had the opportunity to work with all elementary grade levels as a teacher, gifted coordinator, and instructional coach.  I began my teaching career in Hall County, then in 2009 began teaching in Gwinnett, and joined GSES in 2019 as a gifted coordinator. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Brenau University, and a specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.  I also completed my leadership certification program at Piedmont College in 2021.

My husband, Eric Stover, and I have two sweet boys.  My oldest son, Charlie, is a sports-loving 1st grader at Gum Springs and my youngest, Hudson, is an energetic 3-year old that keeps us busy.  I am looking forward to working with all the wonderful families of Gum Springs and supporting you and your children.

It is with great excitement that I join GSES as one of your assistant principals! I have been an educator for over twenty years, with the most recent six years served in Jackson County as a teacher and instructional coach. I am a graduate of the Jackson County School System and my family and I still live in the Jackson County community. I attended Gainesville College and Brenau University to obtain my bachelor’s degree, the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!!) for my master’s degree, and back to Brenau for my specialist’s degree.

My philosophy of education centers around the importance of building relationships and a Whole Learner focus. We must embrace and nurture the social, emotional, and cognitive needs of ALL students to optimize achievement. We must come together and empower students to engage in the creation of their learning paths. When learners, teachers, families, and our community unite to co-author the learning journey, it unlocks potential and accelerates learning.

Our goal at GSES is for EVERY student to have joyous, meaningful, and successful educational experiences that prepare them for their best futures! Together, we can do this! Go Panthers! 🐾
