​Home Study Testing Information for Website
Availability of National Assessments to Home Study Students
The Jackson County School System's high school testing day for the 2025-2026 school year is October 21, 2025. Home study students residing within the JCSS attendance area may participate in these assessments upon request. Requests must be made in person at the Central Registration Office (1668 Winder Highway, Jefferson, GA 30549) and must be accompanied by payment and proof of residency*. The deadline for these requests is Tuesday, September 30th.
The following national assessments will be given on October 21, 2025:

Grade 9 students take the PSAT 8/9 (no fee)

Grade 10 students take the PSAT NMQST (no fee)

Grade 11 students may take the PSAT NMQST for National Merit consideration ($18 fee)

Grade 11 and 12 students can take the ACT ($57 fee)
-
Grade 11 and 12 students not taking the ACT can take the ASVAB (no fee)
Home study students who need to request accommodations on these assessments should refer to the information provided by the testing provider linked below.
*Proof of residency in the parent/guardian’s name must be presented at the time of registration. Without residency documentation, your child(ren) cannot be registered. The following are acceptable:

Copy of home settlement statement or mortgage statement.

Copy of current lease agreement signed by landlord (handwritten notes are not accepted).

Copy of current utility bill/service connection with parent/guardian’s name and service address.

Copy of current homeowner’s insurance statement with parent/guardian’s name and address.
Information for Advanced Placement tests will be provided at a later date.
