Ms. Rebecca Heard, EJMS Teacher of the Year

Ms. Heard is a native of Franklin, Georgia, where she attended Heard County High School and graduated with honors. She went to the University of Georgia where she was a member of the award-winning Redcoat Marching Band and Hodgson Wind Ensemble. Ms. Heard completed her Bachelors Degree in Music Education with an emphasis on instrumental music. This is Ms. Heard's 7th year teaching band at East Jackson Middle School and assisting with the East Jackson High School Marching Band. When she isn't at school, Ms. Heard spends time working out at the gym, watching sports, and taking her dog on hikes throughout northeast Georgia.
