Jackson County Comprehensive High School students Valerie Segraves and Oscar Diaz won laptop computers in the Georgia High School High Tech Computer Competition last month.

The awards were presented to the students and their teacher, Debbie Mintz, Career Exploration Coordinator for JCCHS, at a luncheon held April 17 at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell by Sid Jessup of High School High Tech.

The competition required the students to describe the ways in which technology would help them in school and life.

Oscar spoke at the luncheon about how technology will help him to be a better student and to enhance his understanding of his community.
