Dear Jackson County School Students and Parents,
Our district continues to prepare for the start of 2020-2021 school year. We appreciate the feedback we’ve received from our families and internal stakeholders. In response, the Jackson County Board of Education approved a revised calendar which delays the start of school to Wednesday, August 12th.
In addition, we will be offering families a choice to select either “traditional in person instruction” or a “distance learning” option. Please take a few minutes to review the JCSS Distance Learning Overview before you make a selection for your child/children. We are also providing an overview of our Reopening Plan that may help to inform your decision. Further details may also be reviewed on our COVID 19 Safe Re-Opening Frequently Asked Questions document.
After you and your family have had an opportunity to review the revised calendar, Distance Learning Overview, and Reopening Plan, we ask that you respond to The Learning Environment Commitment accessible through Infinite Campus.
It is important that a response is submitted for each student no later than Sunday, July 19, 2020. School staff and instructional models will be aligned to the responses received through this process, so it is important that thoughtful consideration be given before responding. We look forward to partnering with our students, staff, and families to make for the very best experience while working to protect everyone. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
