Internet access information

Computer screen: WORK HARD DREAM BIGThe Governor’s Office has created a website that lists publicly available Internet access by county and resources available by communication suppliers: https://broadband.georgia.gov/georgia-internet-access-covid-19-update

Please check back often as additional sites and information will be added as they continue to be collected.

District leaders are working to develop a plan to work with each school to address every student we know has limited access.

  • If you are having issues with internet access or your device, please let your child’s teacher know so we can work to provide solutions.
  • If you know of others who are having problems and cannot reach their teachers, please help them make that contact — we’re all in this together and stronger together.

All our schools have WiFi that should be accessible from their parking lots, including our Gordon Street Center — student devices should automatically log on, just as if they were being used inside the building.

In addition, the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce is working with local businesses that have WiFi access they are willing to share to help our families with digital learning.

The three-page document presented below lists local businesses and their access and includes links to information about Comcast opening up ALL of its public hotspots to customers and non-customers, alike.

Again, please let us know if you need help — your best path will be through your child’s primary or homeroom teacher.
