Request for Qualifications and Proposals – New High School Project

The Jackson County School System is requesting qualifications and proposals to provide Construction Materials Engineering Services, Construction Materials Testing Services and Special Inspections for its new high school on Skelton Road.

The planned construction project includes the construction of a new high school facility, associated athletic facilities, and related site work to include clearing, grubbing, grading, erosion control, stormwater system, site utilities, curb and gutter, pavement and other site improvements. In addition, site work will include preparation for future middle school and elementary sites on the same property.

The new high school will be approximately 250,000 sq. ft. Site work is anticipated to begin in November 2018, with building construction to start in the spring of 2019.  Completion of the main building is expected for the middle of the 2020-21 school year or the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. The overall cost budget for the project is $65 million.

Qualified firms interested in providing qualifications and a proposal must submit the requested forms and any supporting documentation no later than 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 (per addendum of Oct. 11, 2018)  Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 2:00 pm.

Bowen & Watson, Inc., is soliciting proposals for Work Packages for site work for West Jackson High School in Jackson County to be submitted no later than 2 p.m. October 9, 2018.All proposals must arrive before the stipulated bid time via email to or delivered in person to the bid opening.There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting at the site on September 25, at 10:00 AM.
