In the Jackson County School System, school improvement and accountability are key to ensuring a challenging and rigorous educational experience for all students.
We use a multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) framework that recognizes the joint influence of academic, social, and behavioral needs on a student’s overall educational performance. MTSS is aimed at addressing the needs of all learners — struggling through advanced — by providing a continuum of support and intervention. This school improvement initiative is designed to support better educational outcomes, increasing graduation rates and ensuring that our students are college- and career-ready. Contact Dr. Kristin Mobbs at 706-367-5151 for more information.
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an approach that emphasizes positive strategies for preventing and responding to problem behavior. It provides a framework for comprehensive behavior management by targeting the whole environment and promoting positive change in both staff and student behavior. This model decreases challenging behavior and promotes a positive school climate. Contact Dr. Kristin Mobbs at 706-367-5151 for more information.

We all recognize the relationship between daily school attendance, student performance, graduation, and habits in the workplace. We also know that the amount of time actually spent in class is a good measure of student access to an education. Each tardy or absence means a student has lost an opportunity to learn.
