East Jackson, Jackson County Earn Distinction As AP Honor Schools
East Jackson Comprehensive High School and Jackson County High School have earned the distinction as Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Schools following a release by the Georgia Department of Education on Tuesday. The 2024 AP Honor Schools are placed into eight categories based on the results from the 2023 AP courses and exams.
East Jackson Comprehensive High School was named an AP Expansion School, showing more than 25 percent of growth in AP student participation from May 2022 to May 2023. EJCHS saw 50 additional students take AP exams in the calendar year, with an increase of 150 to 303 total exams administered.

East Jackson and Jackson County High School both earned the AP STEM School distinction, which classifies schools that have a minimum of five students testing in at least four AP STEM Courses that include AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C, AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles.
East Jackson also earned the distinction of AP STEM Achievement Schools where at least 50 percent of all AP STEM exams earned at least scores of three or higher.
