EJES, GSES Qualify For State Robotics Competition; SJES Wins Core Values Award

East Jackson Elementary School and Gum Springs Elementary School were awarded the Grand Champion Award, out of the 24 teams in the field, at Sunday's First Lego League Super Regional Competition. Both teams have qualified for the state championship in March.

The Grand Champion award celebrates a team that embodies the FIRST ® LEGO® League Challenge experience by fully embracing the Core Values while achieving excellence and innovation in Robot Performance, Robot Design, and the Innovation Project.

In addition to these two teams qualifying for state, South Jackson Elementary School, the only other Jackson County team at Sunday's event, earned the Core Values award. The winner of this award displays extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit, knows they can accomplish more together than they could as individuals, and shows each other and other teams respect at all times.
