Rogers Named Assistant Principal at Gum Springs Elementary

Kaycie Rogers has been approved by the Jackson County Board of Education as the new assistant principal for Gum Springs Elementary School, effective this July. Rogers currently serves as the Instructional Coach at GSES. 

“I have been a proud employee of the Jackson County School System for 22 years and consider it a privilege to be able to serve the Jackson County community,” Rogers said. “I have been fortunate to work with many wonderful mentors, colleagues, students, and families during my career with JCSS, and I am honored for the opportunity to continue to serve in a new capacity. I am thankful to be part of the Gum Springs community and am committed to supporting our staff, students, and families as we grow together.”

Rogers joins the administrative team of principal Joshua Todd and assistant principal Alison Stover. 

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Rogers to our administrative team,” Todd said. “Ms. Rogers already plays such an integral role in our leadership team here at Gum Springs and she will undoubtedly continue to make an impact on the students, staff and families we serve in this community.”

Rogers began her teaching career in the Jackson County School System in 2001 as a kindergarten teacher at Benton Elementary School. She moved to East Jackson Elementary School in 2003, when the facility was opened. At EJES, Rogers worked as a third grade teacher, STEM teacher, Gifted teacher, and Gifted Coordinator. Rogers moved to Gum Springs Elementary School in 2021, where she has served as a Gifted Teacher, Gifted Coordinator and Instructional Coach. Rogers has served as the Jackson County School System district-level Elementary Gifted Coordinator for the past six years. 

Rogers was named the EJES Teacher of the Year in 2005 and 2011 and GSES Support Person of the Year in 2023, as well as being recognized with the Georgia Office of Student Achievement Innovation in Teaching Award in 2017. Rogers holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Child Education and a Master of Arts in Language and Literacy Education from the University of Georgia, as well as a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. Rogers will complete the University of West Georgia Tier 1 Leadership Program in July.
