Seven JCSS Schools Named BETA Schools of Merit

Seven JCSS Schools Named BETA Schools of Merit

Seven schools within the Jackson County School System were named 2024-25 BETA Schools of Merit by the National BETA organization. Five elementary schools earned the honor, to include East Jackson Elementary, Gum Springs Elementary, Maysville Elementary, North Jackson Elementary and South Jackson Elementary. East Jackson Middle School and East Jackson High School were also recognized.

The National BETA School of Merit is awarded to honor a club's dedication and commitment to academic excellence. To achieve the prestigious honor of being named a School of Merit, a school must include members from all eligible grade levels within their BETA Club.

East Jackson Elementary School, East Jackson Middle School, East Jackson High School, Gum Springs Elementary School, Maysville Elementary and South Jackson Elementary School all earned the School of Merit honor for the 2023-24 school year, as well. North Jackson earned the School of Merit honor in its first-year of ever sponsoring a BETA Club.

The National BETA organization is the largest, independent, educational youth organization in America, and emphasizes academic achievement, character, leadership and service by providing opportunities and experiences to impact members, their schools, and communities across the world.
