​Superintendent Brown Named GSSA President's Award Winner

Jackson County School System Superintendent Dr. Philip Brown was named the Georgia Schools Superintendents Association's (GSSA) President's Award Winner for Northeast Georgia RESA on Wednesday. The President's Award is given to a superintendent for displaying outstanding leadership within their school system.

Brown was sworn in as the JCSS Superintendent on June 1, 2022. During his time, Jackson County Schools has become the fastest growing school system in the state of Georgia and now has over 11,300 students. The system has built two new schools that are fully paid off and have plans to build three additional schools in the Hoschton area. The system has also seen improvement in content mastery scores in all grade bands under Brown's leadership while also posting the system's highest graduation rate, 96 percent, following the 2023-24 school year.
