Whitney Hardigree Named the JCSS Teacher of the Year

Hardigree is the Jackson County School System Teacher of the Year and the inaugural Teacher of the Year for the Empower College and Career Center. Hardigree is a healthcare instructor and has worked in the Jackson County School System since 2011. Before she was a teacher, Hardigree was a registered nurse. “I had a teacher as a high school student that really helped guide and direct my decision to go into the healthcare profession, and I’d like to be that person for students,” said Hardigree. “Whitney Hardigree is beyond a teacher. She is a mentor for students. She is an incredible leader within our building. She is a team player...basically, she’s spectacular,” said Dr. Meri Blackburn, Chief Operating Officer at the Empower College and Career Center.
