Redistrict Information
As part of the opening of the new Hayes Farm Elementary School, Hoschton High School and Sell’s Mill Middle School, the Jackson County School System proposed new attendance zone lines to the Board of Education. Once approved, the new zones will go into effect beginning with the start of the 2027-28 school year.
Hayes Farm Elementary School and Hoschton High School will open in August 2027, with Sell’s Mill Middle School opening in August 2028.

Specialized Program Placement for 2027-28 School Year
If a student receives special education services through a specialized program, parents/guardians will be contacted with information regarding the school a student will attend for the upcoming 2027-28 school year.
Specialized programs may include, but are not limited to:

Autism Support Programs – All Levels

Adaptive Curriculum Programs

ISI (Behavior Support) Programs

Multiple Exceptionalities (ME) Programs
Because specialized programs are located at designated schools throughout the district, a child’s school placement may differ from their current school or zoned school. Families of students participating in these programs will receive communication regarding their child’s school assignment for the upcoming school year.
Information for Rising Seniors (Class of 2028)
Students who currently attend Jackson County High School and will be in 12th grade during the 2027-28 school year will remain at JCHS, regardless of their attendance zone. This is part of a strategic decision to allow rising seniors the opportunity to complete their high school career at Jackson County High School.
Transportation will be available to and from JCHS for all students within the Class of 2028, regardless of assigned attendance zone.
Information for Rising Juniors (Class of 2029)
Students who currently attend Jackson County High School and will be in 11th grade during the 2027-28 school year will have the option to attend either JCHS or the new Hoschton High School. Rising juniors who are wishing to attend a high school next year in which they are not zoned to attend can submit a House Bill 251 request until Nov. 20.
Transportation will not be provided for students who attend a school outside of their assigned attendance zone.
Information for Rising 9th & 10th Graders (Class of 2030, 2031)
Students who will be in 9th or 10th grade during the 2027-28 school year will be required to attend the high school they are zoned to attend. Students within the Class of 2030 or 2031 who have a sibling who is a member of the Class of 2028 may attend Jackson County High School or Hoschton High School. Families can utilize the expedited House Bill 251 process via the link at the top of this website page.
Information for Middle School Students
Middle school students will attend the middle school they are currently zoned to attend for the 2027-28 school year. The new Sell’s Mill Middle School opens in August 2028.
Hoschton High School Cluster Logo and Colors
The mascot, logo and colors for the new Hoschton High School and its cluster schools will be released at a later date.
